So this post has two missions:

1. To serve as a guide for the next generation of marketers — starting with a simple, low-hanging fruit skill that prints money.

2. To onboard new hires into how I do things.

There are many ways to do email marketing. But this is the way I’ve found to get the most dollars per subscriber, while keeping the list alive and printing.

Why email marketing?

Getting customers at break-even (or even a loss) is the game.

But email? That’s where the real money is made.

Because once you’ve got the customer…

Marketing to them is free.

Your only cost is an autoresponder.

Meaning, if you play your cards right…

You can squeeze a monstrous LTV from every single lead.

Where to find great emails…

Simple.

Subscribe to newsletters.

Make a list of the following in your market…

  1. Top ecommerce stores.

  2. Direct response brands.

  3. Personal brands, think coaching, consulting, etc…

Then:

1. Sign up to their newsletter

OR better…

2. Buy their products so you get on their newsletter.

My personal favorite?

Agora Financial.

If you don’t know them, you’ve got homework.

They’re one of the biggest financial publishers in the world.

They sell products from $50 to $25,000 all through email.

The most important factor nobody talks about with email marketing is…

The list itself.

If you’ve built a trusted list over the years with a personal brand —

You could write an email on a napkin and it would convert.

That’s the ideal.

And it’s what gurus never tell you.

But most people? Don’t have that yet.

So I’m going to show you the marketing side.

How to turn cold lists and dead subs into dollars.

Over and over again.

Let’s start with the HIGHEST leverage play…

Which is the SUBJECT LINE.

The better your subject line > the more people open your email > the more people click your links > more people buy your offer.

Everything starts from your subject line and downstreams from there.

Subject lines are very similar to how you would write a headline.

Captivating, punchy and curious.

Alright, I got sidetracked… I was traveling and now I’m in Prague…

I suck at poker but love the thrill of it, almost like media buying.

Played 1/2 blinds with $500 on the table.

Every time I play, I see how my brain works.

Poker is a mirror.

If you don’t know who the fish is… It’s probably you.

Same thing with copywriting.

It blows my mind how many beginner writers don’t read the whole VSL or sales page before writing an email for it.

That’s lazy.

Like sitting at a poker table without knowing the players.

You gotta study off the table before you play.

So after you study the pond where you will fish (the list), and you come up with a great headline, you work the body copy…

And for this I will give you a very simple formula to follow.

This is the same basic formula you will use for almost any piece of copy you will ever write.

LEAD

STORY

OFFER

CLOSE

It’s that simple.

Learning to write in this structure, in short form like email, will give you the muscle memory needed to write longer form sales letters.

I won’t break each section in detail. That’s for future posts.

But here’s an example of an email written by a good friend.

It follows this exact structure. And always prints money for me when I send it.

Manifestation email example…

Subj: Pinocchio = Pineal Gland?

Subj: Pinocchio is the secret to manifestation

I’m guessing most people have seen Disney’s classic, Pinocchio, or are least familiar with the story of the wooden doll that desperately wants to become a real “boy”.

Well, it’s a lot more than a simple children’s movie.

Walt Disney, was a high ranking freemason with deep knowledge of the occult… and you can see clues of this throughout many of Disney’s movies.

For example, if you take the name Pinocchio…

Pin (pine) and occhio (Italian for eye) you have “pine eye”... or in other words… pineal.. Which is your third eye.

In the movie, in order to become a real boy… or to ascend… he had to stop telling lies… stop being deceived by his friends… stop getting intoxicated with alcohol amongst other things…

So really, Pinocchio is just an allegory for our pineal gland… 

And a lot of what’s in the story of Pinocchio holds true for us… 

If we want to ascend… and achieve our highest state of consciousness by activating our pineal gland… you can get several clues on how to do this from the story of Pinocchio.

But that’s part of it…
